At Liverpool Orthotics, we provide access to the full range of orthotic devices on the market, including those only available to patients via private suppliers. Our orthotists are free to recommend devices from any supplier or manufacturer, so you can be confident that any intervention is as effective as possible. Types of orthotic device that Liverpool Orthotics provide include:

Orthotic Insoles

Custom moulded orthotic insoles can be prescribed for a wide range of conditions. They are worn in the shoes and can reduce pain and prevent injury as well as aid recovery by providing targeted support to the structures within the foot and helping to control motion and movements in the foot and ankle.

Ankle foot orthoses (AFOs)

There are a variety of AFO designs that Liverpool Orthotics provide access to. Rigid devices provide a high level of support across the ankle joint and control or prevent motion, where more flexible devices provide a more gentle corrective action. Liverpool Orthotics also provide specialist braces aimed at more active individuals, such as the Turbomed Xtern. We can also provide callipers and footwear attachment options.

Knee braces

Braces for the knee can be used to offload the joint, prevent injury or provide support during rehabilitation post injury, as well as improving alignment and improving function. Liverpool Orthotics provide access an extensive range of knee bracing options.

Lycra garments

Lycra garments and suits can be worn to help manage the effects of abnormal muscle tone and spasticity. Lycra garments suitable for both children and adults are available at Liverpool Orthotics.

Neck orthoses

Liverpool Orthotics are able to provide a range of rigid, semi rigid and soft orthotic collars to support individuals with a variety of needs. Specialist braces such as the Head Up collar are popular options and allow for adjustments on the go and without needing to see a specialist.

Night Splints

Night splints and resting splints can be used to immobilise the foot and ankle and provide part of the effective treatment for conditions such as plantar fasciitis and peroneal tendinopathy. Splints can be off the shelf or custom moulded to serve a range of intended outcomes.

Shoulder orthoses

Shoulder orthoses are typically worn following injury or surgery to support recovery of the ligaments and musculature around the joint. Liverpool Orthotics provide supports in a variety of designs, fabricated from different materials to suit individual requirements.

Specialist footwear

Off the shelf, modular and made to measure specialist footwear are provided by Liverpool Orthotics to accommodate irregular foot shapes or provide extra support. Attachment for callipers can also be incorporated into footwear.

Spinal orthotics

Spinal braces can provide support for all levels of the spine to aid in rehabilitation or to improve postural conditions, as well as to achieve correction at targeted regions. The design and fabrication material chosen for a brace can allow for varying degrees of support and stiffness. Upper limb orthoses

Liverpool Orthotics provide access to an extensive range of braces and orthoses for the joints, ligaments and musculature found across the upper limb. Orthoses can be used to prevent injury, support or restrict motion across a joint, relieve pain in muscles or tendons and prevent contractures in the fingers and hand.
