What is the process to having Orthopaedic footwear made?

The first step is to come into our clinic for an initial consultant with one of our experienced HCPC and BAPO registered orthotists. You will require four appointments

  1. Initial consultation/ measurements
  2. Mid fitting (trial fit)
  3. Final fitting
  4. Review (Complimentary)

At this consultation the orthotist will take a full medical history plus a physical examination including observation of walking, checking skin condition, range of movement tests and muscle power tests. The orthotist will then show our catalogue range of footwear, different leathers and colours. The orthotist will either take measure, cast and scan the feet to ensure the perfect fit. Suitable fitting appointments will then be made Once the footwear has been supplied a complimentary review appointment will be made to ensure the shoes are achieving the desired effect.
