Will I require a custom made sport insoles?

Liverpool Orthotics provide both custom made and off the shelf orthotic insoles for sport. Our experienced orthotist will be able to identify which type of orthotic insole is best for you and your sporting activity. Custom made supports often provide the best outcome and the insoles contour better to the shape of the foot plus allow the orthotist greater opportunity to influence the forces that pass through the foot.

What does an assessment for sport insoles involve?

The first step is to book an initial consultation with one of our experienced HCPC and BAPO registered orthotists. The consultation can take place at one of our clinics or at a sporting venue if this is deemed more appropriate for the assessment.

The orthotist will take a relevant medical history and discuss the goals of treatment. The orthotist will then carry out a full physical assessment including a walking and running analysis plus muscles power and range of movement tests.

Once the best type of insole has been decided the orthotist will take scans, plaster casts or foam impressions of the feet. An insole will then be manufactured and a suitable fitting appointment arranged. Once the insoles have been fitted and supplied we will book in a complimentary review appointment to ensure the insoles have achieved the goals of treatment.
