At Liverpool Orthotics, we provide a range of services as part of our comprehensive therapy approach. All of the services we offer place our patients firmly at the centre and our orthotists work within a multidisciplinary team to provide effective treatment.

Assessment

At Liverpool Orthotics, every patient will have a full initial assessment with one of our experienced orthotists. This includes a comprehensive analysis of joint movement, muscle strength and depending on the condition that you come to see us for, may include a biomechanical gait assessment, too. Following the initial assessment, your options for treatment will be discussed and recommendations made by your orthotist. Measurements or casts may be taken in the event of a bespoke device being required.

Fitting

Following an initial assessment, you will attend a fitting appointment where your new device will be adjusted and fitted. An orthotist will explain how to care for the orthosis and will ensure you are confident to put on and, where appropriate, make adjustments yourself. This ensures you can get the maximum benefit from the device when you leave the clinic.

Review

A review appointment is a routine check up where an orthotist can check to see that you are making the expected progress and that your orthosis is working effectively for you. Any required alterations can be made to ensure that you are getting the most from your orthosis.

Gait analysis

Orthotists at Liverpool Orthotics will analyse how your body moves as a unit, looking at joint motion and how sections of your body move relative to one another. Orthotists can utilise the most recent advances in digital motion capture to inform diagnosis and prescription to ensure you get the most effective treatment possible.

Report writing

Our orthotists are experienced in providing reports for a variety of purposes, including for medico legal work, solicitors and case managers. Liverpool Orthotics also produce reports to support other healthcare professionals.

Second opinions

Sometimes a second opinion can give you the confidence you need to move forward with a decision regarding your healthcare, or there may be times where you have reason to doubt a diagnosis. Liverpool Orthotics offer impartial, professional advice and our experienced orthotists are happy to provide second opinions, following an assessment.

Orthotic provision

Liverpool Orthotics provides access to the full range of orthotic devices on the market, including those only available to private clinics. Orthotists are able to make recommendations based solely on what you would benefit from most and their decisions are in no way influenced by choice of supplier or manufacturers. Liverpool Orthotics provide orthotic devices to provide targeted intervention and support across the body.
